From the Center for Wooden Boats: The Wooden Boat Festival is designed to celebrate the maritime heritage of Seattle, getting people out on the water on historic wooden boats. There’s nothing stuffy about the wooden boat festival. This is an old-fashioned, down-home waterfront event where everything is fun and almost everything is free.
Come ooh and aah over a variety of classic wooden boats, build your very own tiny wooden ship, go for a ride on a sail, row, or motor boat and hear a variety of live music throughout the weekend. Admission is free but donations are accepted and help us offer this great annual event.
There are many ways to get to the Festival. Parking is limited, so consider riding a bike, walking, taking the Seattle Streetcar, or taking the Seattle Mini Ferry from UW! It departs every 30 minutes and costs $5 each way.
