This is one worth planning ahead for. From our friends at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle:
A talk by the author, internationally acclaimed writer Roger C. Taylor, followed by a book signing, at The Center for Wooden Boats, 1010 Valley St., Seattle on December 10. The book is the first of two volumes chronicling the life and work of the most remarkable yacht designer of his time. The biography, commissioned by Mystic Seaport, presents plans, photos and detailed text on each one of Herreshoff’s designs through the J-boat Whirlwind, a contender for the defense of the 1930 America’s Cup, while telling the comprehensive story of his life. The event is free; light refreshments will be available; donations are always cheerfully accepted. Book sales begin at 6:30 pm, the presentation is at 7 pm and the book signing follows. Write store@cwb.org or call (206) 382-2628 to reserve a copy of the book.
