Some “Hallmark Holidays” don’t make sense. Mother’s Day does. There are a lot of mothers out there who toil with little appreciation.
But most moms I know would rather be doing something fun than simply being waited on hand and foot on Mother’s Day. And what’s more fun than being on or at least near the water. Looks like a lot of organizations around the Northwest share that idea.

Vigor Seattle Maritime Festival (through Sunday, Family Fun Day is Sunday)
Paddling Festival (today and Saturday)
Coos Bay – Historic Battle Sail (Sunday)
Olympia Wooden Boat Fair (Saturday and Sunday)
Mother’s Day Sail Cama Beach State Park (Saturday)
