Anyone who’s crossed the SR 520 floating bridge in Seattle lately knows that progress is becoming very apparent. All the details can be found on a dedicated WSDOT closed forever and the south part of the lake would be cut off for boats with tall masts, and now there’s a date. February 14 is the earliest this will happen. when it does, the tallest clearance will be 58′ at the east channel. Later in the process, when the new floating bridge is fully operational, that clearance will be up to 70′. See graphic below for details.
