Grand Prix Goes into Final Day

by Kurt Hoehne

Seattle Yacht Club’s Grand Prix Regatta is going into the third and final day today. There were no races on Saturday due to lack of wind (ironically considering last night’s storm). Friday saw two races in all classes in light wind and flat water. Some interesting battles will be determined in today’s predicted blustery conditions. Glory won the two races in the strong 8-boat IRC class, but Jonathan McKee’s Dark Star is within striking distance. Class 4 is showing a keen four way battle, and Crazy Ivan and Kowloon are tied in Class 6. But it’s Class 4 with perhaps the most interesting situation. Voodoo Child, Terremoto and Teddy Bear are tied for first, but no boat is completely out of it, and with Madrona, White Cloud and Ace not far behind, it should prove interesting racing. Good luck to all. Here are some of Jan Anderson’s images so far. We’ll have more of them and a wrapup online in the next couple of days.
