Everyone is talking about the 2020 Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 and for good reason—she’s an awesome boat! Cruising World named her the Best Performance Cruiser for 2020 and she is SAIL Magazine’s 2020 Best Small Cruiser! The most diminutive cruiser in the Oceanis lineup, the 30.1 is designed to be easy to sail, lively to helm, and promises new experiences and thrills. She is small enough to be trailerable but robust enough for coastal sailing and high sea adventures.
Dinghy sailors will like that they can choose between a tiller on double rudders or twin steering wheels for added security when driving in heavy air. Her interior provides unbeatable living space for its size. The headroom space is 6.9 feet at midship and 6.1 feet in the two good-sized double cabins. And two benches in the salon provide two extra berths, making her a comfortable cruiser that easily sleeps 4-6 people.
“Some details are really amazing in this project, especially if we think of her size,” notes Massimo Gino, a founder of Nauta Design, a firm which has designed many Beneteau models including the Oceanis 30.1. “The aft platform is very comfortable and the shape of the deck on either side of the companionway has been angled for better use of the deck hatches. The interior spaces are strikingly large and high for boat this size, and when you enter the shower room you feel like you are on a much bigger yacht.”
For performance, the Oceanis 30.1 has a square-top mainsail, a large overlapping genoa, a furling code zero, and an asymmetric spinnaker. Cruisers can choose between standard draft, shallow draft, swing keel and lifting keel options depending on their primary cruising needs. The first Oceanis set sail in 1986 and set the standard in international cruising. Met with unwavering success for over 30 years, Oceanis continues the traditions in the Oceanis 30.1 to provide a boat that is elegant, super comfortable, and easy to handle and sail.
