Northwest Yachting’s 2016 Washington & B.C. Charter Guide
For many, the logistics of seeing the world from the helm in the traditional “go now” way with their own boat can be hard to pull off. Why not skip the months of blue-themed monotony between destinations and simply charter your way through the world’s top cruising grounds?
Chartering as an alternative option or supplement to boat ownership has several benefits. While the costs are not cheap by any “normal” standard, chartering a yacht is far cheaper than ownership. If one only boats for a few weeks or months out of the year, it may just be worth it. What’s more, the rented vessel is primed and ready to go right out of the gate, which means more time enjoying the water and less time tinkering (or swearing) at Murphy and his law. Additionally, chartering companies can provide valuable resources to maximize a trip’s potential. Local knowledge given by hired skippers, meals cooked up by gourmet chefs, and nature experiences narrated by naturalists can enrich the adventure while keeping one’s mind at ease.
We here in the Pacific Northwest live in one of those places that ranks high on the world’s lists of great cruising grounds. As a result, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to chartering companies. Feel free to be picky and ask questions. This annual charter-company guide is your tool to find the company that can make your dream come true. Envision your perfect adventure and make it happen.
