This in from Stacey Howery of the SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program:
Today, crews have successfully moved the final three longitudinal pontoons for the new SR 520 floating bridge into their final alignment. These pontoons now permanently block the old west navigation channel.
For your safety, please stay clear of the construction zone and use the marked, temporary west navigation channel, which was opened Wednesday, June 24. An illustration of the temporary west navigation channel is posted on our SR 520 Boater Information Web page.
Within a few weeks, crews will move Pontoon A to its final location and connect it to Pontoon B at the west end of the new bridge. Pontoon A is one of two cross pontoons that bookend the new bridge. When Pontoon A is in place, all 77 pontoons for the new bridge will be in their final locations.
This information and dates may change due to the dynamic nature of construction activities. Please continue to check the SR 520 Boater Information Web page for the most up-to-date information regarding navigational changes around SR 520 on Lake Washington.
