Taking full advantage of its more than 21’ beam, this almost-new 2021 Fountaine Pajot MY6 features spacious areas for living and socializing, plus the traditional stability of a luxury power catamaran. The newer MY6, designed by PierAngelo Andreani and built by Daniel Andrieu, has a distinct Franco-Italian feel, with breezy, light-filled spaces, lush amenities, and panoramic views from nearly every spot on the vessel.
Boarding from the extra-wide cockpit, the outside and inside blend seamlessly into the galley and salon areas. From the huge swim step to the salon, there is 215 square feet of open space for relaxation and recreation. Moving forward, the aft-located galley includes a full-size refrigerator, a cooktop, and a stove, as well as space for a microwave. Farther forward, the galley blends into the salon. Opposite the main helm is the dining area to port, with an L-shaped settee around an adjustable height table. Behind the starboard helm is another sofa with room for two more people.
At the helm, the MY6 provides easy piloting with a Volvo Penta electronics package that includes precise joystick controls for the beefy twin Volvo 460 hp IPS 650 engines. The semi-displacement cat hulls are designed for exceptional stability, even in tight turns. One of the most popular features of the IPS pod is its ability to either “crab” the vessel laterally during docking or maintain a stationary position when needed, making it easier for even novice boaters to maneuver in difficult spaces.
The Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system is also more efficient because the forward-facing propellers work in clean, less turbulent water, which increases the range of the boat and improves fuel efficiency by up to 30%. As a result, the IPS setup gives the MY6 a top speed of about 30 knots and a range of up to 1,000 nautical miles.
Because the main engines are located in the first third of the boat, more space is available for luxury accommodations. This vessel is configured in Fountaine Pajot’s Maestro layout, featuring a large, portside owner’s suite and two VIP cabins to starboard, all of which have en suite heads and wide views of the outdoor environment.
Up on the spacious flybridge, accessed from the cockpit via a curved staircase, is an upper helm with instrumentation similar to that of the lower helm. A vast terrace on the upper deck provides plenty of dining and entertainment space, with stunning views available, and a hardtop canopy and sunroof. Aft of the starboard flybridge helm is another L-shaped sofa and table arrangement, while portside of the helm is a sunbathing lounge. More space for sun worship can also be found on the foredeck, accessible via the wraparound side decks. The current owner also recently added a new Inmar tender to the MY6 package, with a 60 hp Suzuki outboard motor.
